The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled council meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building on January 8, 2024 with Mayor Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexader, Jared Terry, and Gordon Burden.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes of the Work Session December 11, 2023 by Beth with a 2^nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.  Brandi abstained.

Motion made to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting December 11, 2023 by Jared with a 2^nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.  Brandi abstained

Motion made to pay the attached bills in the amount of $ 43,926.32  by Beth with a 2ne by Lainie. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $550.00 to Alabama Rural Water Association for annual membership dues by Beth with a 2^nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to pay $16,543.00 to Municipal Workers Compensation Fund, Inc for annual premium by Brandi with a 2^nd by Beth.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve giving Devyn Garrett a raise of $3.00 for his successful completion of the APOST academy by Beth with a 2^nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no was Jared.

Motion made to approve the Police Department’s physical fitness policy as presented by Chief Hughes by Jared with a 2^nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-01 allowing Chief Hughes to sign an agreement with the Child Advocacy Center on behalf of the Police Department by Jared with a 2^nd by Brandi.  Voting yes was Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to approve $1,415.00 ($200.00 registration, $980.00 lodging, and $235.00 per diem) for Chief Hughes to attend the Alabama Chief’s Winter Conference by Beth with a 2^nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve the Transportation plan review as presented by Jared with a 2^nd by Brandi.  All voted  yes.

Motion made to move the Council meeting January 22^nd to 5:30 p.m. by  Brandi with a 2^nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to move the Work session January 22^nd to 5:00 p.m. by Brandi with a 2^nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to increase SRO shooting score to 80 on the range by Jared with a 2^nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Motion made to allow the school to use the Municipal Park and fields March 15^th & 16^th by Lainie with a 2^nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to allow the police department to pay $1100.00 for headshots and an updated department photo with half of the cost to be covered by brass from the range by Jared with a 2^nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve William Coviak to the police department reserve program by Beth with a 2^nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

***Reminders***   2024 Severe Weather Preparedness Tax Holiday Feb 23-25, 2024 – Statement of Economic Interest due 4/30/24

Motion made to adjourn by Beth with a 2^nd by Brandi  at 7:23 p.m.  All voted yes.
